It is one of 1,793 (approx) 1971 Challenges built and is a rare Internationally ordered car with the following options. 318cu.in engine with a 3 speed 904 auto transmission. The original color combination is GA4 Light Gunmetal Metallic exterior with White Power convertible top and V7W painted longitudinal white pinstripes. H6XW White and Black interior. Bucket seats and floor console with woodgrain.
It is now a Super cool 1971 Hemi Challenger Convertible Resto-mod.
With a Chrysler 426 Hemi 465HP. Crate engine casting date of May 24,2002.
Mopar single 4 bl aluminum intake with a Holley 750 CFM Vacuum secondary. Mopar Electronic Ignition system.
Transmission is a Silver Sport Transmission A41-4L60E Stage Three 4 speed AOD with 2500 Stall converter.
Front K member is a Reilly Motorsports Tubular with Mustang II Rack and Pinion Power assisted. Heavy duty sway bar. QA1 Coil over adjustable shocks.
Rear end is custom built 8 3/4 with a 3:73 and Eaton Power lock unit, New Green Bearings and Moser axles. Heavy duty Hemi Leaf Springs Mopar performance. Rear disc brakes. Heavy duty rear sway bar.
The car has been Frame Tied from Back of K member to rear frame rails. Plus the original Convertible torque boxes. The headers are ceramic coated with 3" exhaust with H pipe and Super Turbo II Mufflers for the deep hemi sound and not too loud you cannot talk in the car. Factory style chrome exhaust tips.
The paint is a cool light candy blue with White convertible top and white factory R/T rally strips. The interior is All stock white seats and door panels with black carpet and dash pad. Stock Rally woodgrain dash Tic Toc Tach and full gauges. Wheels are Wheel Vintique 15x8 Rears with 275/60/15 Grand Am Radial GT's.
Front wheels are Wheel Vintique Magnum 500's 15x7 with 235/70/15.
This car was built with no budget or cost cutting. It really is nicely done with great paint and cosmetics and is older but in great shape. There are only a handful, mostly car show, dependable miles since done. Runs and drives great. This color blue with the white accents really pops in the sun. This was a real solid car, no rust bucket to begin with and That's Hard To Find!! The original fender tag and the export tag (Dodge Made in the USA) is still on it also.
